What are ADHD and the medications for the persons suffering from such disorder:

The ADHD or Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is indeed a psychological disorder. It is psychological disease which generally changes how a child behaves, think, and feel. Nearly all children suffering from this disease are overactive and lacking concentration at times, There are mainly two types of treatment which is generally used to cure the ADHD types of treatment for ADHD; pharmacological and non-pharmacological. To treat this disorder most of the times the psychologist gives the stimulant drugs. The psycho stimulant drugs which are generally used by the doctors are Ritalin. Concereta but sometimes non stimulant drugs such as stratera are also given to treat the ADHD. It is on the psychiatrist to provide the stimulant or non-stimulant drugs to the patient.

What is stratera drug?

Stratera drug is a non stimulant drug. Stratera drug is an alternative non-stimulant drug which is generally used as the alternative for the stimulant drug like Ritalin; Concereta sometimes non-stimulant drugs are also used with these stimulant drugs such as Startera as well as amphetamines, such as Dexedrine and Adderall may be to overcome the side effects carried on by the psycho stimulant drugs. The stratera is now approved Strattera (atomoxetine) as a new non-stimulant drug to treat this disorder in adults and children over age 6. Though this is not the first non-stimulant medication for ADHD But it is considered to be the most effective non-stimulant drug.

What are the advantages of using stratera?

There are many adverse effects have been seen in the children after using such stimulant drug? The most common side effect of these treatments is change in the appetite, sleeplessness and anxiousness. The younger children may loose some weight from these therapies Other side effects of these psycho stimulants drugs includes irritability, stomach pain, hair loss, headache, depression, hallucinations, and lack of spontaneity. The non stimulant drugs such as stratera are a good alternative for the stimulant drugs because stratera does not carry these side effects. Many studies show that the stratera is safe and effective.
