Avoid These Foods When Stressed
We all live in a stressful society. Everyday we are in a rush, late for an appointment or hurrying around town to complete errands. If you are constantly feeling stress, the last thing you want to do is aggravate your situation. Here are some tips on foods to avoid if you are stressed out.
We all recognize that we are what we eat. Believe it or not there are a lot of foods and beverages that can have strong affects on our bodies. Many foods can alter our moods and make us hyper or jittery. If you are very tense then try to avoid the following foods and beverages.
First of all it is a given that you should avoid caffeine. Many people don't realize that caffeine is in a lot of our foods and beverages today. Obviously coffee and tea has caffeine and so does soda. Chocolate also has caffeine but much less than any beverage. If you are stressed out, stay away from all these foods and beverages which contain caffeine.
Sugar also is a culprit that can make you more jittery when you want to relax. Sugar can be found in lots of food, however the type of sugar can also make a difference. For instance, processed white sugar that is put into soda, candy and processed foods can make you wired and uncomfortable. If you are trying to relax, enjoy a piece of fresh fruit instead of a candy bar or cupcake.
It is also wise to stay away from fatty foods when you are upset. While fatty foods taste great and are desirable when you are stressed, you don't want to add extra weight onto your body. If you are upset, try to eat healthy. Drink water, eat fruits and vegetables and stay away from processed foods. So if you are stressed out, try the above foods to help you relax.
