Herbs are useful for treating viral infections and immune suppression in chronic fatigue syndrome patients. Antiviral herbs combined with herbs that stimulate the immune system are helpful in the earlier phase. Useful herbs in this phase are Echinacea, goldenseal and licorice. During the chronic phase of chronic fatigue syndrome, useful herbs are goldenseal, astragalus, and licorice and Siberian ginseng. During the recovery phase of chronic fatigue syndrome, Asian ginseng and Siberian ginseng are especially useful.

Some people often complain of tiredness and dizziness. Most of these patients, present with constant and disabling fatigue show no abnormalities on physical examination or screening laboratory tests. This tiredness does not go on for months and the affected person does not feel better even after a period of rest. These substantial periods of fatigue are defined as the chronic fatigue syndrome. It is a disorder, which is common in every age group especially in the middle aged persons. CFS is the short form of the chronic fatigue syndrome. CFS is a disabling disease, in which the person feels so tired that he cannot even do his routine work such as dressing up and bathing.
Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome are very similar disorders. These diseases are so similar that earlier chronic fatigue syndrome was characterized as Fibromyalgia. A considerable number of people who are suffering from fibromyalgia are also suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome. The symptoms of both the diseases are very common. These similarities make diagnosis and treatment even more confusing. A clear comparison should be made for both the diseases to diminish this confusion.
Signs and Symptoms of Fibromyalgia
There are certain hormones that mimic the normal hormones in the body responsible for the being. These hormones disrupt the chemical composition of the natural hormone. The brewed coffee that is bleach filtered too has dioxins. These chemicals have the ability of passing through the skin. These can get accumulated in the adipose tissues that are the fat cells in the body. These are capable of blocking the enzymatic pathways in the enzyme cycles in the liver. These generally remain attached to the hormone receptors in the body. The hot flashes create great discomfort to the body and the general well being.
Chronic fatigue syndrome is disorder generally related with the long periods of extreme tiredness and weakness. There is no absolute treatment available for this syndrome. Only some of the affected persons recover their full health. There are no drugs available only for the chronic fatigue syndrome. Doctors generally use various drugs to control different symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome. Some of the drugs are listed below.
Amitriptyline: this drug is generally used as a treatment to depression. That is why, this drug is used to decrease the symptoms of anxiety and depression in the chronic fatigue syndrome affected persons.
What is Chronic Fatigue Immunodeficiency Syndrome?
People with Chronic fatigue immunodeficiency syndrome suffer from a wide variety of symptoms, but the most common and generally the most severe are fatigue, muscle aching and difficulty in concentrating. These symptoms are generally made worse by exercise. Other symptoms comprise of feverishness, bowel irregularity, sleep disturbances, headache and tender lymph glands in the neck. There are many a symptoms of chronic fatigue immunodeficiency syndrome. Symptoms like fatigue and muscle aching are very common in almost all illness caused due to chronic fatigue immunodeficiency syndrome. If these symptoms are for long time then only the disease is diagnosed. There are many patients that date the onset of their illness to a particularly bad attack of flu from which they fail to make a full recovery. Other patients become ill more rapidly with no definite point of onset. A syndrome is basically a collection of various symptoms and physical abnormalities.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic fatigue are also as myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), post-viral fatigue syndrome (PVFS), and various other names, is a syndrome of unknown and possibly multiple etiologies, affecting the central nervous system (CNS), immune and many other systems and organs. There is no simple diagnostic test. CFS is a diagnosis of exclusion, although recent research indicates biological hallmarks of the syndrome and a diagnostic test is predicted soon. CFS occurs more often but not exclusively, in women, possibly due to immunological factors as women are overall more susceptible to similar disorders. CFS is most easily diagnosed when formerly active adults become ill but it has been reported in persons of all ages which include young children and particularly teenagers.
Function of Skeletal Muscle
Skeletal muscle function was measured as force production and fatigue in both the quadriceps and adductor pollicis in five healthy volunteers, five patients with mild chronic heart failure, and five patients with rigorous chronic heart failure. The quadriceps of patients with chronic heart failure had an abridged muscle cross sectional area, a reduced maximum isometric force production and an increased tendency to fatigue. Isometric force production and fatigue of the adductor pollicis, however, were not considerably different between the three groups under control conditions. However during circulatory occlusion fatigue in the adductor pollicis is augmented more in the patients with severe chronic heart failure. These differing findings in quadriceps and adductor pollicis propose that skeletal muscle atrophy and reduced isometric force production are not an essential consequence of chronic heart failure per se, because they were only present in the large locomotive muscle.
Now a days fatigue is a common complaint. Those individuals who have chronic fatigue lasting more than six months have a condition than can be serious and disabling. Recent research does show laboratory abnormalities in the CFS patient population, although the search continues for a specific biomarker that will identify the illness.

Overview:
It is generally termed as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome of Holmes et al. The condition is associated with a particular type of occupation, lifestyle, mental or physical stress or any amount of pre-existing psychiatric evidence. Fatigue is general weariness and tiredness. These include myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), post viral fatigue syndrome (PVFS), chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction (CFIDS), post-infectious fatigue syndrome (PIFS), neurasthenia, fibrositis myalgia and "Yuppie flu".
