As for drugs, many of them will cause a person to become depressed because of their abuse.

During a woman’s pregnancy she may feel sad, restless, and may even cry a lot, and even though these can be normal symptoms of being pregnant, they can also be signs of depression. Bipolar disorder is also known as manic depression. Oftentimes, people who suffer from this disorder have been described as moody, melancholy, and dark. Such misunderstandings often occur thanks to books such as Catcher in the Rye and movies such as A Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
