Common Signs of Panic Attacks

If you think you are experiencing panic attacks, you have to understand that the main sign of panic attacks is the panic episode itself. No one can really tell how a panic episode feels unless you experience it for yourself.

A panic attack usually lasts for about ten minutes. The episode peaks within the first few minutes and slowly diminishes over the next minutes or hours. Most of the time, people who experience their first panic attack cannot distinguish the physical and emotional signs of panic attacks. Stopping Panic Attacks without Medication

When a person experiences his or her first panic attack, many people become alarmed of the unfamiliar feeling of anxiety or nervousness. Since most panic attacks occur when you perform ordinary daily tasks like walking, driving or cooking, you can never really tell how a panic attack feels unless you experience it yourself.

Stopping panic attacks will only work if you understand the condition by consulting a doctor. Panic attacks can be caused by different reasons, such as grief, accidents, stress, overwork, childbirth and post-surgery effects. Be aware that panic attacks occur randomly and unpredictably. Stopping panic attacks is important because this condition could lead to other more serious panic disorders that take longer to treat.

Many Possible Adverse Affects That Link Caffeine and Panic Attacks

As far back as July, 1997 the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) led scientists as well as consumer groups to petition the FDA to include warning labels to products with caffeine. It was required to disclose the amount of caffeine in each product, though currently companies only indicate that caffeine is an ingredient. According to CSPI, there are many possible adverse effects of caffeine to people's health.

Though panic attacks are not specifically mentioned by the CSPI, having a warning label on caffeine products would benefit people suffering from panic disorders. Caffeine and panic attacks have a close link as it may increase anxiety as well as cause insomnia which is two conditions that may make people more susceptible to panic attacks.
