Cold feet problem

Cold feet are mainly caused by poor blood circulation to the feet and this problem is mainly caused during winter season. Good blood circulation is very crucial for the existence of human beings. Cold feet problem causes the feet to become chilled and it becomes irresistible.

Causes of cold feet:

The most common cause is poor blood circulation and it is known as peripheral vascular disease or PVD, it involves the peripheral arteries and peripheral veins it is the problem with the blood vessels carrying blood away from the heart and blood vessels that carry blood towards the heart. Peripheral artery disease is the substance made up of fat that build up into a plaque and hardens on the wall of the arteries and making it difficult for the blood to flow properly. It takes years for the fat to get converted into a hard substance, so this problem is very common among the old age group.

Many other problems that can reduce blood circulation:

1. If the person is affected by the diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, unfavorable nerve and thyroid conditions.
2. Overweight also causes bad blood circulation.
3. Smoking and drinking is also a hazardous for blood circulation.
4. Proper, regular exercise is not done and improper diet also causes improper blood circulation.
5. Pregnancy and sitting for long hours in one position.

Symptoms:

1. Symptoms like cramping, fatigue, buttocks, foot pain, leg pain occurs very frequently.
2. Symptoms like cold feet, or feel like the feet has fallen asleep.
3. Frequently facing tired and aching feet.
4. It is common among people above the age of40.

Preventive measures:

The most important preventive measures are to avoid poor blood circulation and the treatment for it is to avoid all the risk factors that cause improper blood circulation.

1. Avoid drinking and smoking.
2. Make a habit of regular and proper exercise.
3. Keep blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes under control.
4. Keep active and avoid being immobile for longer period of time.
5. Try always to keep your feet warm and wear good quality shoes.

Cold feet problem should be taken care of at earliest. It is caused mainly by major diseases and improper blood circulation to feet. Some people face this problem also due to cold weather. If the person facing cold feet problem take care of its causes, he can easily get rid of this problem.
