Xenoestrogens mainly refer to man made estrogens and chemicals found in the environment. The main sources of xenoestrogens include hundreds of chemicals found in pesticides, fuels, drugs, ploy carbonated plastic baby bottles and food containers. They are also associated with fertilizers and fungicides and thus can be found with water, as rain-washes them from landfills and agricultural farms. Xenoestrogens have been investigated to be causes of infertility in both men and women and for poor sexual development.
Effects on men and women fertility
Xenoestrogens lead to estrogen imbalances in men thus influencing the reproductive in myriad way. Xenoestrogens are also responsible for some disturbing trends such as decreasing sperm count and function, decreasing testosterone production and testicular malformations. This all disturbances are greatly responsible for impotency in males. In case of women xenoestrogens can cause hormone havoc which lead to infertility or serious problems during pregnancy.
Protective supplements
After extensive research on the subject scientists have come up with various supplements that can fight the problems created by xenoestrogens, thus improving your fertility. These protective supplements include intake of Vitamin C – 500 mgs to 5 grams daily. Intake of 100 to 500 mg Lipoic acid daily is also highly effective. 1,500 mg of N-acetyl cysteine is also suggested as protective supplement. In addition there are especial herbs such as milk thistle, turmeric, dandelion, chelidonium and juniperus are also effective to fight xenoestrogens.
Combating xenoestrogens
Taking few simple precautions can fight Xenoestrogens though very harmful back. Make sure that you avoid plastic packaging. Use your own cloth bag to avoid food from absorbing chemicals from plastic containers. Try to avoid hormone-containing meat, dairy, poultry. It is advisable to eat organic and vegetarian food. Drink natural spring water to avoid consumption of xenoestrogens coming from agricultural lands. Try to consume more of phytoestrgen food such as soy, flax seeds, green vegetables fruits and nuts.
If proper care and precaution is taken to shield from xenoestrogens, infertility defects arising from them can be easily avoided, thus also increasing your fertility on the other hand.
