Obesity appears to be an epidemic in the United States, and the problem is not limited to one age group. Elementary school children are obese, and the obesity facts about this age group are startling. There are small children in the primary grades that are obese in greater numbers than ever before. Teenagers suffer similar problems, and the obesity facts about this age group are frightening. Their parents, teachers and politicians are also experiencing problems with obesity as well. The facts about adults in the United States show that a significant percentage of the population at this age is obese.

The obesity facts about the causes of this problem are available from different sources. Medical researchers provide many of the obesity facts that identify the sources of the problem and information on the possible solutions. Educators are concerned about the obesity facts about their students so these professionals also study the problem and possible solutions. Government officials and agencies are also looking at obesity facts in order to care for their constituents. The facts available provide information about the problem itself and the side effects of this problem. Obesity in small children has caused an increase in childhood diabetes, and obesity in adults has led to more diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

Obesity Facts Explain the Cause and some Solutions

The research that has discovered the obesity facts explains the reasons for obesity. All of the people who suffer from obesity do not become obese for the same reasons. Some people are born predisposed to obesity. These people are born with genes that makes it easy for them to gain weight and difficult for them to lose weight. These people have a very difficult time maintaining an appropriate weight, but these people can study the facts for help. Other people become obese because of their behavior. These people eat too much and do not exercise enough to maintain an appropriate weight.

Obesity facts provide a greater understanding of the problem which should lead to better treatment of the problem. People that gain weight at certain periods in their development have a more difficult time losing weight later. People who cannot deal with stress in their lives turn to food for comfort. People who eat junk food have a greater chance of gaining too much weight. A greater understanding of the problem should help more people deal with the problem of obesity. Their health will improve tremendously if they use obesity facts to maintain a proper weight.
