ORAL MEDICATION FOR RELIEVENG JOINT PAIN

Joint pains are the most prominent problems found in many people. More than half of the population of this world is suffering from joint pain and all of them try out all possible treatments they can. But one of the most effective treatments of such pains is the Oral Medication.

HOW DOES IT WORK

Oral medication is the process by which the drugs are delivered by mouth through the alimentary tract. It is more preferable because it becomes very convenient for the absorption of the drug. They are prescribed to be taken either after food or before food as required by the medicine, which the patient is taking. These drugs can either be in solid form or in liquid form. This type of treatment is also called as Systemic Therapy.

PREPARATION

Before taking the medicine we are required to take certain precautions.
First we are required to wash the hands properly.
The patient's order sheet should be checked and then he should be given the medicine with the proper amount of dose. If the medicine is solid then appropriate number of pills and if it is a liquid then the medicine should be measured in a small measuring cap and given.
Also if the medication is liquid then one must keep in mind that the bottle should be properly shaken before the patient is given the medicine.
Liquid medicines containing iron should be taken through a straw in order to prevent staining of teeth.
After the medicine has been taken then the time and the dose should again be recorded.

TREATMENT

There are many medicines available in the market for joint pains. Generally for mild pains in the joints the doctor advises Aspirin or Ibuprofen. But for severe cases of arthritis there are medicines such as drugs related to vitamin A. but these medicines have certain type of side effects so the dose should be taken properly in consultation with the doctor.

CONCLUSION

Though there are many more methods of treating joint pains but the most preferred way is through Oral medication as people find it very easy, reliable and effective.
