One of the most common body disorders are body aches, muscle pulls and joint pains. Joint pains affect most individuals at some point in their life. It is a very natural phenomenon that is caused as the body is subjected to constant wear and tear. Though joint pain is observed widely, it can be treated very easily and without any complex medication. Minor joint problems can be treated with simple physiotherapy exercises within a few days.

There are several physiotherapy exercises that can be used to get rid of any joint pain. The exercises vary according to the degree of the joint pain. Joint pain mainly occurs because the joints become very rigid and movement creates enormous pain in them. To keep the joints flexible and free from pain, it is important for the individuals to carry out special joint pain combating exercises. The physiotherapy exercises involve several isometric exercises. In the isometric exercises, there are flexing exercises especially prescribed to deal with joint pain. The exercises begin with very slow and gradual flexing moving on to faster flexing. Other exercises include pulling and pushing exercises against static resistance. Also, using stretching techniques also is a part of physiotherapy exercises.

The main point in the physiotherapy exercises for reducing joint pain is to ensure that every joint gets adequate movement. The basic aim itself is to remove all the stiffness and the rigidity from the joints in order to remove the pain completely. One very important exercise for the knees is that of quadriceps tensing. In this, the individual has to lie down on the back, tense up the muscles in the thighs and raise the heel by keeping the knees touching the ground. Apart from it, inner range contractions are also very important for keeping the knees free from pain. For shoulder joints, simple rotational exercises of the hands are advised for relieving the pain. Using exercises like assisted flexion to stretch the arms as much as possible and taking them high above the head can be a great method to relieve shoulder joint pain.

These are just a few of the physiotherapy exercises that are perfect for combating joint pain, without taking any oral medicines.
