Relieve tired and swollen foot
The Need
The feet are the maximum used and ill-treated part of the body. All the day they are used without a break. When they become tired, they may swell.
Methods
When the feet get tired and swollen, rest them above the head for 10 minutes. This is done by lying at right angles to the wall or on the bed with them on the headboard or on the floor with them on the top edge of a chair. The trapped fluid in the foot journeys back towards the heart and the swelling reduces. The second method is to keep the feet in a cold-water tub or bucket or hold the feet in running cold water from a tap. Then keep the feet upwards for some time. The third method is to obtain cold drink cans from the refrigerator and roll them over the feet for a while. Alternatively, apply cooling foot spray to the feet. Chemists can provide a foot spray containing mint. This has to be stored in the fridge.
Foot Massage
Massage the feet at any time slot. The foot massage solution can be prepared at home by mixing 2 teaspoons of castor or soybean or olive oil, 3 drops of lavender essential oil, 1 drop of German Chamomile essential oil and 1 drop of Geranium essential oil. Begin by holding the foot so that one hand is on the top and other on the sole. Rub the blend on both the hands and apply it from the ankle to the toes. The strokes should be long and firm. Stroking causes blood circulation and warmth. Now hold the heels in one hand and rotate the toes five times in one anti-clockwise direction and then in the opposite direction. Stroke each toe lengthwise and when the tip is reached stretch it. Move the thumb along the pads beneath the toes. Start from the big toe and stop at the small toe. Repeat this process twice. For each toe press from the top to the bottom using the thumb and first finger. Using the thumb press from the ankle upto the big toe and then from the heel to the little toe. The presses must be firm throughout the procedure. Wash the feet with mild soap and use some nourishing cream on the feet.
