Teen Obesity Is at Record Proportions

Teenagers can be lively, energetic and enthusiastic people who enjoy life to the fullest. These same people can be loud, obnoxious and bored. Teenagers can also be lazy, pessimistic and critical. Teenagers are complex people with great virtues and annoying vices. They are a special group of people with an amazing influence on the life of others. Unfortunately, teenagers are now more obese than they have ever been before. Teen obesity has reached epidemic proportions according to some medical researchers.

The medical researchers who have studied teen obesity have alerted their parents, their educators and their politicians about the growing problem of obesity. These researchers have written about the problems of teen obesity and detailed some of the causes of teen obesity. The researchers have made others aware of the problems, and most people have seen other evidence with their own eyes in their homes and on the streets. The problem is now very much a focus of the adults who are worried about teen obesity. Teenagers are the future of the world so many people now work to solve the problem of teen obesity.

Teen Obesity Is Due to Poor Nutrition and Lack of Activity

Most medical experts agree that teen obesity is due to poor nutrition and a sedentary lifestyle. They note that teens eat too much fast food, and they spend too much time watching television and their computers. The parents agree that these are the main problems that cause teen obesity. Educators are also aware of the problems that cause teen obesity. Even the fast food providers realize that teenagers need some nutritious options at the outlets they patronize for their food.

Those concerned with the problem of teen obesity are now working to solve the problem. Many parents now encourage their teenagers to eat better food and less of it. Many parents try to make delicious yet nutritious meals for the families, and they try to keep them away from junk food as much as possible. The schools work to have nutritious meals available at lunch time for the students. Parents and educators are also working to offer programs to encourage teenagers to be more active. Parents try to limit the time their teenagers spend watching television and working at their computers. The leaders of the community are working with parents, educators and politicians to solve one of the great problems that affect the teenagers of the nation.
